Working for big companies is always challenging as the remits are specific and the time is always at premium. I was entrusted with one such opportunity by a leading tea manufacturing company for redesigning a tea vending machine. I was asked to rectify and redesign on an existing tea vending machine which had some serious shortcomings. Few are listed as follows; a) the machine was made from sheet metal and therefore it was heavy and cumbersome to lift without lift catches/ handles on either side. b) other issues included placement of switch and ventilation relating to overheating problem. Apart from overcoming these issues they wanted me to come up with something that was aesthetically pleasing and modern looking to go with their brand name. To tackle these issues as a single designer was a challenging and a demanding project that was successfully completed in the given time frame.
